Michael Mothner is a serial entrepreneur and Internet pioneer, having founded his first software company at the age of fourteen. In 2001, out of his dorm room at Dartmouth College, Michael founded Wpromote, now one of the fastest growing and widely recognized online marketing firms in the country, where he has served as CEO since its inception. When occasionally pried away from his laptop, Michael can be found screaming at the Lakers, eating epic sandwiches and spending time with his dog Reggie.
One of the original members of the Wpromote Team, Michael is responsible for the execution of all client services and manages the overall operations of the company. With extensive online marketing experience, Michael also supervises strategy and planning for our largest clients. Michael is considered Wpromote's foremost expert not only on paid search, but also on single malt Scotch and Paleontology. There isn't a question about whisky or dinosaurs that he can't answer, which is a great comfort to the other employees.
Michael heads up the Sales and Marketing teams at Wpromote. He also manages the company's strategic partnerships and alliances while working directly with many of Wpromote's largest clients to develop their online marketing strategy. Michael's vast experience in online marketing is eclipsed only by his gift of gab, and his workplace antics are infamous around the office. Michael is also a regular speaker at industry events and a member of Google's Search Engine Marketing Council.
From 2004 to 2010, Alison was Director of Wpromote's QuickList department, the flagship service of the Small Business Products division. In 2010, Alison became Wpromote's first Financial Controller, and in 2012 CFO, managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company as well as heading up long-term strategic planning, budgeting and accountability. An avid dog lover, Alison is Wpromote's foremost authority on the best places to groom, play with, feed and hang out with her two rescues, Penny and Leo.
Jessica was one of the first PPC Account Managers at Wpromote after graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara. With extensive experience managing hundreds of strategic PPC Management clients, Jessica became the VP of Client Services in 2013, running our PPC, Media Buying and Email Marketing departments. From devising high-level strategy to executing media buys for Fortune 500 companies running multi-million dollar campaigns, Jessica lives and breathes online media, delivering amazing results with a smile.
Another Southern California native, Jamie joined Wpromote in 2008 and manages a myriad of marketing initiatives in her role as VP of Marketing. A UCLA graduate, Jamie manages Wpromote's extensive internal marketing endeavors, including major website redesigns, sales materials, tradeshows, brand reputation, press outreach and more. Formerly working for the nation's largest shoe industry tradeshow, Jamie is Wpromote's foremost fashionista, and her excellent design aesthetic helps shape the entire Wpromote brand.
Mike drove across the country to join the Wpromote Team and has been helping to shape Wpromote ever since. As Strategic Partnerships Director he is a driving force in many different areas including Sales, Product Development and Strategic Partnerships. In 2009, he took home the gold from the very first Wpromote Chili Cook-off. Being a connoisseur of country club sports he oftentimes finds himself on the rolling greens of a golf course or careening down the icy slope of a large mountain.
Jeff Pickett joined the Wpromote team in early 2007 and quickly became one of the most talented optimizers in the field. His analytical mind helped establish many of Wpromote’s best practices and he continues to work on some of our most complex accounts. Jeff is all business during the workday but a bit of a Renaissance man on his own time. When Jeff isn’t traveling the world or surfing (or both!), he’s either wrenching on his classic car or spending far too much time and money trying to create the perfect cup of coffee.
Andrew began at Wpromote as one of its first college interns in 2007, making him one of the earliest members of the Wpromote Team. In 2011, Andrew became Wpromote's Director of SEO, managing both one of the fastest growing teams in the company as well as spearheading strategy and execution for such clients as Toyota, Scion and Behr. Holding the distinction of officially the tallest member of the Wpromote Team, despite his executive role he is still known around the office by his original nickname, "TI", or "Tall Intern."
After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Fine Arts, Joanne surprisingly found her calling in Human Resources. She brought a wealth of experience when she joined the Wpromote team in 2010 as its Director of Human Resources. Joanne has thoroughly conquered the unique challenge of helping a rapidly growing small company mature into a significantly larger enterprise without letting Wpromote lose its young, dynamic and fun culture that was – and is – an extremely important part of its success.
This So Cal native joined the Wpromote Social Media team in 2010 and has been an integral part of shaping the department ever since. She is quick to adapt and always ready for a challenge, which is perfect for an ever-changing Social Media landscape. When she isn’t working into the wee hours of the night, Adria lets her adventurous side out. You might find her skydiving, bungee jumping or scuba diving up and down the coast of California. “Work hard, play hard” is a motto this young woman lives by!
David joined Wpromote in 2006 and worked in Wpromote’s small business group before moving to our sales team, where he became the first Director of Sales & Strategy in 2013. A highly trained SEO expert, David admittedly has a love-hate relationship with Google, but it’s all worth it when he is able to form long-term client relationships and deliver amazing results for them! When he's not breathing online marketing, David loves enjoying Pinot’s, Tecate and College Football.
After moving from his home state of Pennsylvania to sunny California in 2010, Justin joined the Wpromote sales team and has never looked back. Justin climbed rapidly from a Sales Executive to Outbound Sales Manager and became Wpromote’s Director of Sales Operations in 2014. Justin helps coordinate our sales team’s business development and works extensively on training and department collaboration. A rabid Philly sports fan, Justin loves listening to jazz on vinyl, wine and is patiently waiting for somebody to finally teach him to surf.
As Director of Marketing, Marcy is tasked with making sure that the hundreds of client reports that go out each month are gorgeous and filled with everything our clients desire, as well as handling all of the marketing needs of our Small Business team. A Wpromote veteran since 2009, when she isn’t sharpening up her analytics skills or coordinating executive reports for Wpromote’s largest clients, she can be found sneaking peanut butter from a hidden drawer at her desk.
With more than seven years of SEO experience under his belt, and four years at Wpromote, Armen heads up Wpromote’s Offsite SEO team, where he creates and executes cutting edge link building campaigns for all of Wpromote’s largest clients. While his claim that he has finally cracked Google’s algorithm remains dubious, his status of being the greatest Armenian golfer Wpromote has ever had is undisputed.
Dexter joined the Wpromote team as an account manager after graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Marketing. He helped build the Strategic Partnership division from the ground up, and is now responsible for client satisfaction and day-to-day operations. When he’s not in the office, you are almost guaranteed to find him on a tennis court taking down the local competition. He also has many aliases including, but not limited to, Weapondex, Sir Dex-Alot and Dex-effect.
After spending the better part of the last decade trapped in a tour van with four grown men, in 2011 Ryan decided to leave the turbulent world of professional music and enter the relatively less confusing world of Internet marketing. As the Director of Creative, Ryan heads up a talented team of writers, designers and researchers. He ensures that Wpromote clients receive content that is brilliant, authoritative, and (if necessary) a bit on the funny side on a daily basis.
