You Will Be

  • Managing a team of 5-7 SEO Coordinators/Managers by guiding SEO strategy, identifying account opportunities and obstacles, and developing communication skills
  • Closely overseeing and facilitating the on-boarding of new accounts that fall under direct reports
  • Interfacing with direct reports’ clients to collect feedback, articulate value, present strategy and strengthen the relationship
  • Conducting annual performance reviews and customized professional development plans for direct reports
  • Directly manage 2 - 3 high profile accounts to stay current on applicable technology, tactics and industry trends
  • Lveveraging the accounts to test and learn new strategies, features and platforms and share findings with the SEO department
  • Maintaining the ability to train account managers on all SEO fundamentals, including technical best practices and troubleshooting, keyword semantic strategy, onsite optimization, user-experience, and other algorithmic factors
  • Coaching direct reports on foundational skills, including clear communication, expectation setting, rapport building, active listening and conflict de-escalation
  • Continuously refining and updating the training process and materials for new hires
  • Leading Earned Media-related discussions and partake in internal or public speaking opportunities
  • Maintaining sufficient knowledge of core digital marketing channels, including paid search, social media, content marketing, and email marketing
  • Assisting sales team on audits, decks and pitches for prospective SEO clients.
  • Improving business processes & workflows to better enable collaboration & efficiency between account managers, clients, and business units such as web development, accounting or marketing
  • Spearheading development of new department deliverables based on Earned Media industry evolution and opportunities
  • Reporting to Head of SEO and other upper executives on key client service pillars: same store growth, retention, new business and partnerships
  • Identify critical client/account issues and escalate them to appropriate executives in a timely manner
  • Anticipating the needs of the Head of SEO and provide concise, actionable information on account opportunities, account obstacles and direct reports

You Must Have

  • 4-7 years of experience working in SEO comprising of earned media campaign strategy within an agency/client environment
  • Minimum of 2 years prior staff management with development and mentoring experience
  • Extensive experience developing, optimizing, analyzing, and reporting on SEO campaigns for a diverse range of clients and verticals (Ecom/retail and lead gen preferred)
  • Solid experience with data analytical tools such as Google Analytics and Omniture
  • Stellar knowledge with keyword tracking tools such as Brightedge and SEMRush
  • Strong working experience Google suite, Excel, Powerpoint, Keynote, Asana
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing or related discipline
