The Role

Wpromote is looking for a Dallas-based content editor to become the next member of our growing team. In addition to editing content for B2B and B2C clients including Marriott, Greystar, Capital Senior Living, Vacations by Marriott and several smaller challenger brands in the sales, marketing, pet and home improvement verticals, our content editor will manage and coach a team of content writers and serve as the co-lead for the team’s day-to-day management. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience managing a team, a finely tuned eye for editing and knowledge of SEO best practices. This position, under the general supervision of the senior director of content, will include client-facing responsibilities. This person’s role will be approximately 60% editing, 30% managing and 10% writing.

You Will Be

  • Revising, editing and/or proofreading content created by other writers on the team and within Wpromote and providing feedback
  • Managing a team of content writers to ensure copy is original, on-brand, grammatically and stylistically correct and engaging
  • Assigning content based on strategies created by internal teams
  • Writing creative B2B and B2C blog posts, website content, white papers and more for clients in multiple verticals
  • Collaborating with other teams to brainstorm on creative concepts to be executed across multiple media channels
  • Brainstorming content ideas for other clients based on need
  • Supporting senior director of content and serving as liaison between departments
  • Enforcing internal deadlines for all projects

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or a related writing field
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience copywriting for an agency, corporate marketing/branding team or newspaper/website
  • Minimum 4 years managing a team of 3-10 people
  • Strong editing skills with an eye for detail and a style that maximizes web content usability and accessibility
  • Ability to stay organized and self-motivated while adhering to tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects
  • Strong grammatical and writing skills, with extensive knowledge of AP style
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices with the ability to write creative, concise, smart and SEO-friendly copy
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to quickly adapt, troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Proficiency with Macs using G Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel
