The Role

Wpromote is looking for a bright, enthusiastic, Dallas-based content writer to become the next member of our growing team. Our content writer will be responsible for creating informative, engaging, clear and accurate creative and technical copy for a host of B2C and B2B clients including Marriott, Greystar, Capital Senior Living, Vacations by Marriott and several smaller challenger brands in the sales, marketing, pet and home improvement verticals.

Under the general supervision of the senior director of content, the content writer is part of a team of writers and editors that creates content for clients in multiple verticals. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills and may take on light editing responsibilities and simple SEO keyword research duties in coordination with other departments when necessary. This position could include some client-facing responsibilities.

You Will Be

  • Writing creative B2C blog posts for clients in the apartment, travel and senior living industries
  • Writing technical B2B blog posts and white papers for clients in the sales and marketing verticals
  • Creating original on-page website content, meta descriptions, title tags and photo captions for Marriott hotels
  • Adhering to strict guidelines for each brand and client
  • Making edits and revisions to content based on feedback from Wpromote content leaders and clients
  • Brainstorming content ideas for your clients and others the team works with

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or a related writing field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience copywriting for an agency, corporate marketing/branding team or newspaper/website
  • Minimum 1 year (can be combined with above) technical writing experience
  • The ability to be creative or technical depending on the client
  • Strong understanding of how to write for the web with communication skills effective for various audiences and adapt their writing style to an established brand voice
  • Understanding of website usability and web best practices
  • Solid editing skills with an eye for detail and a style that maximizes web content usability and accessibility
  • Ability to stay organized and self-motivated while adhering to tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects
  • Strong grammatical and writing skills, with extensive knowledge of AP style
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices with the Ability to write creative, concise, smart and SEO-friendly copy
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to quickly adapt, troubleshoot, and problem solve
  • Proficiency with Macs using G Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Portfolio that represents print and/or digital samples
