The Role

We are looking for a meticulous, detail-oriented, and bilingual freelance editor to edit content for our client. Our client produces formulas, vitamins, and supplements for babies and children. Some of the content you edit will be for our client’s English website, and some of the content you edit will be for our client’s Spanish website. You’ll be editing all content for writing style, adherence to SEO best practices, consistency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, hierarchy, flow, and overall content quality.

You Will Be

  • Communicating directly with and taking direction from Wpromote’s SEO and Content Marketing Managers
  • Performing research on the client and becoming a brand expert
  • Editing monthly batches of English and Spanish content that may include blogs, resource pages, category pages, and product pages
  • Editing content across a range of topics within the children’s nutrition industry
  • Editing copy for adherence to the content brief instructions 
  • Editing copy for SEO best practices, including the body, headings, titles, and meta descriptions
  • Adhering to brand guides, editing copy as needed to match the writing style of our client, and ensuring the verbiage aligns with our target market
  • Editing copy for consistency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, hierarchy, adherence to facts, and flow among other things to ensure all content is unique and high-quality
  • Providing thoughtful and clear edits, comments, and constructive feedback to writers

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree; English, Writing, Spanish, or related field preferred 
  • Experience editing copy in a professional environment 
  • Fluency in English and Spanish; must have a strong command of the languages’ grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and flow
  • Extensive experience writing/editing to English- and Spanish-speaking audiences 
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience writing/editing SEO-optimized copy
  • Experience writing/editing children’s products and/or nutrition
  • Experience following style guides and brand guides
  • The ability to be efficient, detail-oriented, and reliable 
  • Proven experience writing/editing to different target audiences and adjusting your writing style as needed
  • Experience providing clear, detailed, and constructive feedback to writers
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • The capacity to answer emails in a prompt manner and occasionally talk on the phone (reminder: This is a remote/freelance position)
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with Google Docs would be a plus
