Junior Engineer

Remote, United States • Full Time

The Role 

Wpromote is looking for an entry-level engineer who will be assisting the engineering team to continue development on our next-generation CRM application. This candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned engineers and a diverse tech stack, getting great on the job experience. They will be responsible for performing hands-on development such as implementing wireframes into reusable components and building API endpoints to support new product features. This candidate must be experienced in SQL and relational database concepts.

You Will Be

  • Participating in daily stand ups, weekly grooming and sprint planning
  • Following agile practices
  • Assisting and supporting a variety of engineering efforts ranging from front-end development in React to bu­ilding models and API routes using Django
  • Writing unit tests to validate your code
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Integrating 3rd party APIs
  • Using Celery to help automate reoccurring tasks
  • Creating thorough documentation of your work
  • Using Atlassian software development tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence
  • Familiarizing with Unix and Linux OS
  • Completing additional duties as required

You Must Have

  • Completed a web dev bootcamp or similar experience
  • Backend programming experience with Python, especially Django
  • Foundational knowledge of HTML, Javascript, and CSS (including SASS)
  • Very comfortable with modern React features such as managing state through Hooks
  • Experience using PostgreSQL
  • Experience with AWS or GCP services
  • Experience using automation toolkits such as Gulp
  • Experience working with Git
  • A passion for learning and problem solving
  • Strong communication skills
