The Role

The Junior Accountant is responsible for all things Accounts Receivable. This includes processing client invoices, confirming the coding is correct, and confirming the payments applied to each are correct. There are multiple client processes that need to be completed in a timely manner for month-end close. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, we need an individual with a can-do attitude, outstanding organizational skills, and keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience with digital media and be familiar with revenue and expense reporting as it relates to an agency organization.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $62,000 – $68,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

You Will Be

  • Billing, coding, and processing of all invoices
  • Responsible for client profile and client billing sheets maintenance
  • Client payment applications: check, wire/ACH, credit card
  • Support client collections and past due notices
  • Reconcile passthrough spend with AR prebills
  • Have a good handle on separate AR inbox
  • Prepare audit selections and other requests from external auditors
  • Document internal controls surrounding the tasks performed to ensure completion of close checklist
  • Operate as a trusted business partner and provide excellent levels of service across the organization
  • Proactively maintain a thorough understanding of new and proposed accounting standards and the impact to the organization
  • Participate in ad hoc projects
  • Suggest and improve existing policies and procedures to create more efficient processes across the department

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) with a focus in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, or similar ERP and software, are required
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills are required
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP and recent accounting trends
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Strong operational experience with a focus on process improvement and documentation
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Previous experience in an agency, digital media and/or other high-growth environments
