Welcome to the third installment of our employee spotlight! We’d like to take a minute and introduce you to Jonathan Godinho, a Senior Creative Manager here at Wpromote.
Q: What do you look forward to most on Monday?
A: I look forward to working with countless people that are actually my friends in real life. Wpromote has brought so many people into my life that I consider more than coworkers, and it makes everyday at work fun and engaging. It also helps people be more committed at their jobs, because it is that much harder to let down a friend.
Q: What is your biggest accomplishment at Wpromote?
A: I would say my biggest accomplishment at Wpromote would be building the creative department from the ground up with Ryan Farrell. It started out as one copywriter and one designer, hammering out infographics everyday. In the past 3 years, it has grown into an entire department, creating assets for every aspect of digital marketing.
Q: What is your favorite Wpromote event?
A: I really enjoyed going to Dodgers games with the company every year. Since we haven’t gone recently though, my favorite event would be the Chili Cook Off. Last year Ryan Farrell, Tim Pickett and I won the People’s Choice award. And the people don’t lie.
Q: Who is your favorite coworker and why?
A: I like a lot of my coworkers, but if I had to pick one I would say Bill Faturos. He sat next to me on day 1 and is always up for interesting conversations. And late night fast food runs.
Q: When were you hired? What was your starting position?
A: My first day at Wpromote was June 1st, 2012. I started out as a sales person in the Small Business Sales department. After 6 months I moved over to SEO and worked as a copywriter, writing content for infographics.
A: Yes. It’s called coffee. And getting out of bed later than anticipated.
Q: What’s your favorite book?
A: My favorite book is the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. It’s a great novel about America, comic books, and love and loss.
Q: What’s your go-to LA activity?
A: There are so many things to do in LA. But if I had to highlight one thing, it’s the New Beverly Theater. It’s a theater that shows double features of film, everyday. 2 movies for 10 bucks, it’s a crazy good deal. It’s owned and curated by Quentin Tarantino, and all films are in 35mm. It’s definitely an LA landmark.
Q: What’s your perfect Sunday-Funday?
A: Sleep in, coffee, good food, read at the park, movie in the afternoon, cook dinner with friends, and some Jeni’s Ice Cream to top off the night. I definitely wouldn’t do laundry.
Q: How did you first learn about Wpromote?
A: When I was graduating college, I read about Wpromote on Los Angeles’ Best Places to Work list. Seeing that it ranked so highly, I thought it would be a good place to apply. I was right!
