More On Mobile: What’s The Sitch?
Google has confirmed the “Mobilegeddon” rollout, mentioned in my last post, will not be completely done for a bit longer. This likely explains why many aren’t seeing a huge impact yet. However, there has been a 4.7% uptick in mobile-friendly web sites since the launch, according to Google. Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the impact of Mobilegeddon!
An “8K” filing that occurred a few days ago revealed insights into the new terms in the Yahoo and Microsoft Search Alliance agreement. “Pursuant to the Amendment, on or after October 1, 2015, either Yahoo or Microsoft may terminate the Search Agreement by delivering a written notice of termination to the other party.” Though it’s not likely, it’s still something we want to keep our eye on.
Record Setting Spends For Digital Advertising
If you’re a customer at all, I’m sure this growth in digital advertising spend comes as no surprise – 2014 hit a record high of $49.5 billion. The biggest overall spend was in search, with desktop search accounting for 38% of spend. Though desktop is still dominating, mobile is, as one might expect, on the rise!
