Sorry, folks, I don’t have much time today for a good Tues News, so I thought I make up for the lack of analysis, theme and picture from homestarrunner.com and give you not three but FOUR amazing links, today. Just because today has been a busy day here at the Wpromote office doesn’t mean that amazing things aren’t happening in the world of search marketing. Let’s get going!
- SEM Showing Signs of Life: The economy is giving everyone a very difficult time and the search marketing industry is no exception. However, there may be a silver lining. According to MediaPost, “The data shows that overall spend declined by 21% from the prior year. But this quarter’s decline demonstrates a slight improvement, compared with the first quarter’s 23% drop in advertising spend.” Don’t be left behind; get your SEM dollars ready, people! [MediaPost]
- Google vs. Microsoft: What You Need to Know: We talk a lot about Google, Microsoft, AdWords, Bing, Brin & Page, Ballmer, etc. but if you’re new to search marketing, it may all sound a bit like mumbo-jumbo. This article goes over the basics and analyzes the current situation and possible future outcomes with regards to this clash of the titans! [Wired.com]
- Facebook Employees Get Rich!: We’ve all heard this before but, this time, it appears to be true. Facebook has found an investor in the form of Digital Sky Technologies. Looks like employees might actually get a chance to cash out. The big question, as always, is: “Is now the right time?” One look at the stock market might make you wonder. [The Business Insider]
- Microsoft Bing Grows, But Not Enough: So, we’ve heard a lot about Bing and, after reading the Wired article above, you may know a little bit more about it. Well, who cares, right? As it turns out, Microsoft did a good job turning heads with their ad campaign but they haven’t been able to get users to keep their attention on Bing and off of Google. [InformationWeek]
