How To Get Free Quality Links

Kevin Burns | June 30th, 2011

If getting free quality links for your website was easy I would be writing this blog post from Bali. Obtaining free quality links does require hard work, but it is not impossible if you are using the right tools. In this blog I will be giving you a few relatively easy steps and great tools to jump start your SEO for free. I hate to start with such an obvious SEO step, but just about every company should have a blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube account.  You can set up these four properties in under two hours, and if you set aside an hour a week to contribute to each of them, their function will be met.  All these do is establish your company as a viable entity that Google and other search engines can use to confirm that you are a real person.  If you skip these beyond simple steps, you are missing out on some very low hanging fruit. Now for a few not so obvious free link building tools.  Create an account on social question & answer sites, with your website’s name and URL associated to it.  Answer questions relevant to your niche on Quora, Yahoo Answers, Wiki Answer, Wiki How, AllExperts, AnswerBag, Yedda/AOL Answers, Mahalo Answers.  These links will usually only get you no-follow links, which have slightly less link juice than a link from a relevant website, but they can definitely contribute to your overall SEO efforts. Social Bookmarks are definitely a term that any Continue reading…

Fun With Google Search By Image

Michael Block | June 24th, 2011

Google has a new Search by Image function and, if you haven’t used it yet, you’ve got to give it a try. If you haven’t heard about it yet, I’ll let this soothing, disembodied female voice explain it for me: Get it? Okay, now that you’ve been given a crash course, let’s have some fun with Wpromote’s executive head shots. Below, I’ve matched up the Wpromoter with the first result in Google’s search by image. Let’s start with the big dog, Michael Mothner, Wpromote’s CEO: It appears that Mothner has more in common with former Turkish National Soccer Team goalkeeper, Rüştü Reçber, than just his tenacious will to win. According to Google Search by Image, they share dashing good looks as well! No, you’re not seeing double. On the left is our Controller, Ali Quinn-Angel, and on the right is renowned Romanian professor of history, Dr. Gelu Neamţu. They actually are not related in any way but, according to Google Search by Image, they’re practically twinsies! Our Director of Marketing, Jamie Lane, is right at home putting together decks for potential clients, organizing the sales team for conferences and getting the word out about Wpromote’s services. In Google’s opinion, she might also find herself at home on the high seas as Captain of the infamous Black Pearl. By the way, Google, if you’re wondering, telling a woman that she looks like a hand-drawn Chinese poster for one of the Pirates movies is not as big of a compliment as you might think. Whole Foods Parking Lot Ever tried rhyming the words humboldt fog and quinoa? It is possible, as this video proves.  This mocking portrayal of the real life drama of a Whole Foods grocery-run has made this a hilarious viral video hit. This comic rap tells the story of the stressful perks to food shopping such as no parking, tiny carts, annoying customers and long lines. Can you relate? Can I Be Your Friend? Have you ever really thought about your online life in literal terms? What does it really mean to “poke someone”, “follow someone” or “like someone”? If these terms were used outside of the online world would they still be accepted? Check out this viral video showing people’s reaction to combining real-life with online lifestyles. T-Mobile Angry Birds Live This viral video takes place in Barcelona, Spain and with no language the video shows pedestrian trying to figure out how the Angry Birds game on the T-Mobile phone relates to the elaborate set around them. Before long the addicting game draws in a crowd of hundreds. The globally popular game and the shared experience of fun then become associated with T-Mobile, its “biggest range of smartphones” and its “Life is for sharing” slogan. Search by Image This video is simple and straightforward, but that’s all it has to be. This innovation to Google search speaks for itself and the explanation in the video gives the viewer all the tools to start using this new capability.  Once the public Continue reading…

Google Chrome: Dear Sophie Grab a tissue everyone! Technology can be tear-jerking! This is a video sponsored by Google Chrome and covers a few heartfelt years of a sentimental father. The archaic photo album has nothing on this! My Social Tattoo This is one dedicated friend. Who would’ve thought that a montage of profile defaults could be considered body art? Facebook as artistic inspiration? Do you “Like”? The Roast of Facebook Social media websites have taken over, where conversations, ideas, and events spread faster than they did in the halls of your high school. While this isn’t as racy as the roast of Hugh Heffner or David Hasslehoff, it’s a somewhat factual animated take on the lives of the 21st centuries web-based social media platforms. Guess it’s only a matter of time before Myspace is lost in social media hierarchy, where Facebook rules the kingdom. Before & After Ronaldo: Nike Soccer After nearly twenty years with the Brazilian National Team, Ronaldo left his permanent mark on the game of football. Nike reminds us how his speed, strength and unmatched ball skills set standards higher than ever for the upcoming generation of soccer players worldwide. Save this Post!
